With is the Word

“Be strong in The Lord and the power of His might.”

                                                 Ephesians 6:10

Have you ever ran on empty? Sure, the car light comes on and we still have miles until the next gas station. No fun but lots of stress. Have you ever bonked? That’s when your body experiences the same phenomenon. Any long distance biker or runner can tell you what that is like. Your see at that moment, when your mind on body don’t cooperate, what being truly empty feels like.

The key to filling that hole and feeling whole again is the word, “With”. I think it’s amazing hat people can accomplish in this life. I just look at how a car engine works and wonder how this person figured that out.  I know some people think aliens created the Great Pyramids but can you give God credit for making people with ingenious minds?

Our history is full of inventions and creations that defy the imagination. They are doing what they were created to do: glorify God with their talents and abilities.

However, as incredible as the human mind is, as resilient as the human spirit can be, it’s only one part of a bigger equation.  God made man to work in tandem with Him. He is the inspiration and we are the participation and the perspiration. The Lord enables us to achieve great things with Him. Nothing is impossible with God. That is a promise right from Jesus’ mouth.

So, the opposite is sadly true. We can try and do so much in this life but fall short. We have limits as humans (like a fallen sinful nature, death, etc.). God is not bound but these things. Without Him nothing will last or make a real difference. Humbling? Yes. Truthful? Ouch.

What keeps us from doing these great things? I cold say everything bad in this world but that is not entirely true. It really is our fear to trust Him. The reality is that God gives us the ability to overcome everything and anything that hinders our progress. So, what is keeping us from being all we should be? Nothing.

With God the weakest messed up person can have a wonderful productive life. Those who have it all together but have the hole can find the wholeness to be complete. Jesus stops up leaks but also teaches how to let things flow. That what working with God does. It puts things as they should be and nothing else will satisfy like Jesus can.

I hope if your are feeling “holey” the The Lord can fill you up and make you holy.
